Product description
This optical outlet provides termination for up to four users via ST® or SC connectors. The outlet can be mounted in various positions into wall cable channels or in surface mounting boxes. Multifibre bundle cables or breakout cables may be used and can be secured by clamps or cable ties.
Sufficient space for fibre loops is provided, and grooves for up to 8 crimp splice protectors are available. The FO ports can be turned by 4 x 90° steps and provide also vertical adjustability in order to suit most of the standard switching programmes. For the floor-tank installation a special type is available.
The benefits of fibre optic networks can be fully used only if the fibre optic cable is installed up to the subscriber’s desk (Fibre To The Desk). Network installations via FO cables require plugable, repeatable at constant function and robust connections between the cables installed in the channel and the subscriber cables. The adaptors have to be safely fixed and protected in a wall outlet or in a floor tank in a way that the connected plugs can be easily connected and disconnected as well as to ensure a minimum radius of 25 mm of the fibre cables.
If splice connections in conjunction with FO pigtails are used, storage spaces for splices and reserve loops as well as strain reliefs must be provided. Even in case of of Breakout cable or Mini-Breakout cable applications strain relief means and bending radius limiting should be available. For simple outlets containing covers and adapter carriers these requirements are not fullfilled.
